What Happens to Your Online Life when you die?

Wednesday 11th November

November is Will Aid month — participating solicitors waive their fee for writing a basic will and ask instead for a voluntary donation to charity. But a will alone isn’t enough. What happens to your photos, your passwords, your online bank accounts, your loyalty points and your social media when you’re gone?

Without a little planning, families can find themselves locked out of precious memories, dealing with social media profiles that carry on regardless, and paying subscriptions nobody knew about — sometimes for months.

The good news? The big companies — Facebook, Google and Apple — have all built tools to help. And sorting this out is simpler than you might think.
