We’ll be covering:

  • Why phones slow down — and what you can do about it

  • Apps you’ve forgotten you have — and how to confidently remove them
  • Messaging apps and the hidden storage they quietly build up
  • Simple steps to get started — no technical knowledge needed

It was a great talk, a lot of common sense. Regular tidying and ‘cleaning’, much the same as housework! Your talks and individual help are very much appreciated, do please keep going.

  2. Yes, please continue sharing your knowledge. Even if people leave with only one thing that they were unaware of previously, they are still totally worthwhile – and many people learned a lot!
It’s also great to chat with the ‘experts’ following the talk about any particular problems.
    Keep up this invaluable service.

    I agree with above comments.
I found your talk very useful -I did not know that Whats App stores any incoming photos/videos
I have now cleared most of them
It will be a great shame if these educational talks stop

Thank you very much for the excellent Spire talk ‘Declutter your smartphone’ on Tuesday 2 June. I learnt a lot of useful tips, and took note not to try to do it all at once, and just remove a few a day. I have found every Spire session helpful. PLEASE continue with them, even if some are repeats.

Could you please help with decluttering our laptops? I expect you’ve done that session some time ago, but I guess there are enough tips on that to fill several future talks. Yes, please continue as all the sessions are interesting and valuable.

Hello Hillary, a good suggestion and we haven’t done that talk before, however is it tied into a few other subjects, I will add that to the list

A very interesting and useful talk. I have already put the knowledge to good use starting to declutter my phone. This is the first talk I have attended but I will definitely try and come to more. Please keep them going.

Very useful talk and as usual I went away learning several new things. Helpful to know the specific things such as videos which take up so much more space on our phones. Just one suggestion relating to the question and answer part of the talk can the speaker repeat the questions from the audience through their mike please as it isn’t always easy to hear the audience members? Many thanks again for arranging these sessions which are an enjoyable social event as well as educational.
